PokerStrategy.com TV Championship Countdown: Meet Swordfish, Biggie, and Kyyber

We have another chance to meet some of the hopefuls making their way to London to play in the PokerStrategy.com TV Championship this month.

PokerHeaven

Manig Löser aka swordfish007

swordfish007 - The Tournament Pro

22 year old swordfish007 may be one of the younger players competing in the PokerStategy.com TV World Championship, but could also be the most experienced.

His real name is Manig Löser and he won a rake race on PokerHeaven to book his place in the event.

He is a very successful live player with over $400,000 in winnings in the last two years, most notably with a win in the European Masters of Poker Bulgaria Main Event for €49,080.

He also has another edge, in that although he is from Germany, he currently lives in London, so will be enjoying home advantage too.

"I've already sat at TV tables at several tournaments, so it's not a problem for me to play poker in front of the cameras. However, it's my first show with this kind of format, so it will certainly be a very interesting experience."

Biggie1982 - Representing The Staff

Erik Loschan aka Biggie1982

Most of us who work in the poker industry dream of breaking out of our 9-5 jobs and making it as a poker player, and that will no doubt be on the mind of biggie1982.

You might recognise him better as Erik Loschan, who has been one of our top news reporters for the last three years.

Now he will be the one trying to make the stories after winning a VIP freeroll after coming in the top 20 of a rake race.

He also has an amazing story of how he won his ticket. The tournament was down to four players and he had to leave in order to pick his girlfriend up from work.

He returned to just 9 big blinds, but realising he had nothing to lose, played hyper aggressively and managed to go on to win the event.

"I'm rarely nervous and I'm not about to start getting nervous because of a couple of TV channels. The anticipation is enormous though! I'm really excited about getting to know the other players and the guys at PokerStrategy.com."

Kyyberi - Prop Betting Kindergarten Teacher

One player to watch, if for no other reasons than sheer entertainment purposes, is kyyberi of Finland.

He is a 33 year old Kindergarten teacher by day, and by night he is a PokerStrategy.com coach, teaching low stakes PLO.

He also has a reputation as a sick prop better. He has already won one prop bet against one of the Swedish coaches where the loser has to swim in a frozen lake in Sweden before the final table of this event.

But it could get even more interesting if he makes the final table himself, as he describes here:

"I have also promised in our community a long time ago that if I ever make it to the final table of international tournament, I will play it wearing bikini's. If I win the seat in the final table, it might get interesting. Of course I am going to keep my promise."

What is the PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship?

This event is our first televised poker tournament, in partnership with PokerHeaven. It is going to be broadcast on the Poker Channel in early 2012.

It will feature seven heats of six players, with the winner of each heat progressing to the final in December.

Waiting at the final table will be PokerStrategy.com CEO Dominik korn Kofert, as well as a $42,000 prize pool, which includes a $20,000 first prize.

The 42 players who have qualified all won their tickets in exclusive freerolls and rake races. Whether they win or lose in London, they will have an experience they will never forget.

They will be staying at the stylish K-West Hotel, attending exclusive parties, riding in Limousines, and much more.
