Mike Matusow's dream destroyed
Sometimes you just can't help but feel for Mike Matusow. One can like him, one can hate, but no one will argue that Mikey is a true patriot of the game. He really thought it was his World Series of Poker that year (2004); he played his best poker, he got deep, he did everything right, but the river sometimes is so cruel... It's OK, Mike, you have a very eventful career in front of you. You WILL win. Probably not the Main Event though.
Just how the Main Events are won
This story is actually similar to the Matusow's one from the previous video. Last 15 of the Main Event (2010), a perfect spot to win a huge pot that would make you a big chip leader, perfect play on all the streets. And a devastating river.
We have to give credit to Matt Affleck. He couldn't believe it. He left the room, let his emotions out, but then came back and did the right thing. If only all the pros took the bad beats like that...
And once again we have to say: if you want to win a big tournament, you have to ride your luck.

Streamer goes ape
Twitch streamer Chance 'Sodapoppin' Morris has gone viral after his - despite every gambler being able to sympathise - undeniably hilarious reaction to losing a $5,000 blackjack hand live in front of some 40,000 people.
Morris attempted to finish the stream with a bang by placing the maximum possible amount, and must've thought he'd struck gold when he received an ace for his first card.
However, as we all know, lady luck can prove a cruel mistress, and just moments later Morris was demonstrating his own unique brand of mega tilt.
$1,000,000 bad beat
You know which bad beats are the toughest? The ones you just can't avoid. You get dealt aces, go all-in, and your opponent calls. It's the best feeling in the world. Now imagine that your opponent shows you the other two aces, then manages to catch a flush. And, yeah, another small thing: it all happens in a tournament with a $1,000,000 buy-in. Oh, well...
You are not the God of poker
How could we leave out a scene from the best poker movie? Him — Mike — losing all of his bankroll is actually not the main point here. Of course, every self-respecting pro would never risk his capital like that.
I think the key idea script writers wanted to get across is the problem of ego in poker. Most of you will be familiar with the two stages of a poker player's self-awarenes: "I'm a poker God " and "I'm the sucker at the table", along with the fact that these stages are constantly shifting. Mike McDermott turned from God into Sucker in a matter of seconds.
Never let your ego control your decisions and put years of hard work at risk. Yes, I know, you've learned some tricks, probably even beaten a couple of limits, but it doesn't mean that you're suddenly invincible. Don't rush your dreams. They will come true, in time.
