Update to phasing out of Black Member Events
We have made some adjustments to final Black Member event benefits in 2015.
We have previously announced that we will phase out our Black Member Events during the course of 2015.
The reasons for this are known:
- The poker industry has developed in such a way that it is important to focus more on recreational players.
- Payments to affiliates adjusted accordingly and thus PokerStrategy.com needs to stop the Black Member VIP benefits.
Based on the feedback from our Black Members, we understand that they in general understand the reasoning behind the phase out and how the industry has changed. However, we were criticised for too few events in 2015 for members to use their tickets, as well as accessibility for the tailor service.
Two Big Closing Events
We are happy to announce that we have added two big closing parties to the 2015 Events schedule based on feedback we received from Black Members. We do this mostly to satisfy our Black Members who did not have a chance to visit any event in 2015, but the events are of course open to every Black Member with an unused event ticket. Both events have a capacity of 200 participants. Details of the parties are still under construction, but Black Members can already view what is planned in the Black Member Events Forum.
Tailoring Service
- The tailor is going to nine of our BM events
- We are organising individual tailor appointments in those nine cities even for Black Members who are not attending the event itself
- It is possible to organise an individual appointment with our tailor in Hamburg.
- Tailor service should be available during big closing events, too. (Already confirmed for Düsseldorf. As yet to be confirmed for second party).
Reimbursements and Raffle
For the avoidance of doubt, please note that all the Black Members are eligible to reimburse their travel token for the full price of $600. This has always been possible and actually was never an issue. If someone thought differently, it was only a misunderstanding.
The Black Member raffle of $100,000 stays in place for those who do not want to use their tickets, tokens or suits in the above way.
We understand that this update will not turn the termination of Black Member events into good news for those of you affected by these changes. Still we believe that it will provide Black Members an opportunity to either get their suit or attend a final Black Member event before this phases out. There will be no more adjustments to the plan in 2015.
