Why the GGPoker Main Event satellites are getting softer

With over 350 players already qualified for the WSOP Main Event and no incentive to win multiple packages, there are now fewer regs in the GG satellites.

If you have been on the fence about qualifying for the WSOP Main Event via GGPoker now is the time to start your campaign.

Last week pokerfuse confirmed that GGPoker have already qualified more than 350 players for the Main Event this year, having previously pledged to send at least 600 in total.

What that typically means is that the satellites have just gotten softer. It is usually only the grinders who were planning a Vegas trip anyway that tend to play the early satellites. The closer you are to the series, the more recreational players you start seeing in them.

The way the GGPoker satellite system works, you can win multiple packages and take the T$ instead. However, a package is worth $12,000 and a multiple-seat winner only gets $10,000 in T$. That makes winning a second package significantly unprofitable, especially because the extra money cannot be instantly withdrawn.

What that all means is that with every week that passes the GGPoker satellites are going to get softer because fewer regs will play them. Especially as June begins because that means a lot of the regulars will be heading to Vegas.

But don't leave it too late, otherwise, you might miss out on your shot (and you might never get a better one than the one below).

Participating in the world-renowned series is the dream of any poker player, and the hype around this year's WSOP already started to grab players and the industry alike. Naturally, we're jumping on the bandwagon as well, hosting exclusive The Road to Vegas raffles amongst our members playing at the world's largest poker room GGPoker.

Ahead of another attempt to host the biggest WSOP Main Event in history, we're running a total of four Road to Vegas raffles from April 17 until May 14, each one guaranteeing 12x WSOP Qualifier tickets that you can use at GGPoker to qualify for this year's WSOP:

  • Week 1: April 17-23
  • Week 2: April 24-30
  • Week 3: May 1-7
  • Week 4: May 8-14
