$1 million guaranteed in 888poker's XL Winter Series
From Thursday onwards, players at 888poker can join the 11-day XL Winter Series, leading up to a $500,000 Main Event on December 20.
Most major poker rooms are running big festivals and promotions during Christmas season and of course 888poker is joining the mix as well with a Winter edition of their popular XL Series this month.
The XL Winter Series is starting on December 10, again offering 34 events in total until December 20 with buy-ins ranging from $5.50 up to $320. A prize pool of $1 million is guaranteed in total and there are daily chances to qualify via freerolls and satellites.
Apart from the Main Event, some of the highlights of the XL Winter Series include three events with a $50,000 prize pool, including the $109 Opening Event this Thursday as well as the $55 Tune Up Event this Sunday, December 13 and the $320 High Roller on Monday, December 15.
The Main Event is due on Sunday, December 20 and again comes in three editions. For the first time ever, the series highlights of the XL Series will all be played as PKO tournaments, though:
- $500,000 Main Event PKO with a $250 buy-in at 17:00 GMT
- $50,000 Mini Main Event PKO with a $33 buy-in at 17:30 GMT
- $15,000 Late Main Event PKO with a $5.50 buy-in at 18:00 GMT
Free Tickets in Gift Drops & Live Streams

As they did for the Millions Superstorm, 888poker is also ramping up their social media promotion of the XL Series, hosting a couple of live streams for the biggest events of the series with David Tuchman and Nick Wealthall as well as 888poker ambassadors joining the show to break down the action.
During each of these live streams, 888poker will be raffling away $109 and $33 XL Winter Series tickets amongst all viewers and reveal the password for a $450 XL Streaming Winter Freeroll, with additional tickets given away for free.
Additionally, during the entire course of the series, XL Winter series tickets will also be randomly awarded to players via 888poker's new Gift Drop system that's been introduced alongside their new client a couple of weeks ago.
