PokerStars Launches VPP League with $45,000 in Cash Prizes

Play at PokerStars between August 9 to September 9 and you will get a share of $40,000 from the VPP League promotion. The top 50 VPP earners will also get a share of an extra $5,000 prize.

PokerStars is launching a VPP race, where the top 500 finishers are rewarded with a share of $40,000. The "VPP League" starts on the 9th of August, 04:00 GMT and will run until the 9th of September, 03:59 GMT.

In order to take part in this promotion, you simply have to sit down and play at the real money tables. The more VPPs you earn, the higher your reward will be.

Note: The VPP League is open to the residents of the following countries: Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Balkans.

To be eligible for this promotion, players from the countries above must first register for a 'dummy' tournament called "VPP League" in the PokerStars lobby, under Tourney -> Private. The registration period is open already and will run until August 24, 03:59 GMT.

$40,000 for top 500, $5,000 extra for top 50

For this promotion, PokerStars set up a leaderboard where you will be able to follow your progress. At the end of the VPP League, the top 500 VPP earners will get a share of the $40,000 global prize pool, depending on how many points they got during the promotional period.

The payout will be proportional to the amount of VPPs you earned, compared to the total VPPs earned by the top 500. This means that if, for example, you earn 1,000 VPPs at the end of the promotion and the top 500 made a total of 100,000 VPPs, then you will get 1% of the $40,000, which is $400.

The top 50 finishers will also get a share of another $5,000 according to the payout structure below:
