Top 250 & Top 20 October: Half time

Two weeks have passed since our Top 250 and Top 20 October promotions started. After two weeks of play, we see that sgosgo and smidlo leading in these two races.

Top 250Starting this October, PokerStrategy.com will be introducing you to the
new Top 20 promotion. This new promotion runs for three
months, until December,
and culminates in a final tournament with an expected prize pool of at least $30,000.

Here, the payout structure will see the top 20
players of the English community grab a share of the total prize pool
of $2,000. The first place finisher will be awarded with $500.

Top 20: smidlo is still in the lead

Just like last week, it seems like smidlo does not want to let go of his first place. He now has 23,325 StrategyPoints and he is currently holding a rather strong lead. In the international ranking he is in the 9th place, which could earn him a nice $2,000 at the end of the month.

However, the runner-up is none other than twicet, who jumped four spots since last week and he now has 17,272 StrategyPoints. If someone can take smidlo down, it's him. He is also ranked 28th in the international leaderboard at the moment, so he might get the $1,000 prize.

Ranked third is kaplanovic82, who managed to get a total of 12,404 StrategyPoints after two weeks of play. In the overall ranking, he is in 65th place, which can yield him $200, just like his current ranking in our community.

Just like in the earlier promotion, if a player in our community happens to win prizes in both the Top 250 Promotion
and this Top 20 Promotion, then he or she is only eligible to claim the
higher of the two prizes. The lower prize will then be put into a
global pot where everyone gets a shot at winning a piece of it.

Over $30,000 expected in the global pot

Instead of giving the prizes out in the form of a jackpot lottery draw,
this time around, PokerStrategists who wish to grab a share of the
global pot will have to pit their poker playing skills against one
another.

In January 2010, a $1 buy-in tournament with an added-on prize
consisting of all the money in the global pot will be organized and it
will be open to any member who has a tracked account. The exact time,
date and poker room for this tournament is yet to be decided,
so keep your eyes out for the announcement.
