UB & Absolute Poker players get their money back

Customers of the disgraced site have started receiving their bankrolls back over six years after they wrote them off forever.

One of the big pleasant surprises of the poker year was the news that former UB or Absolute Poker players had a chance to get their long lost funds back, using part of the money left over from unclaimed Full Tilt refunds.  

Over the weekend that became a reality for a lot of players, with delighted US poker players on forums who opted for BACS transfer confirming they have their bankrolls back. Players outside of the US and those who chose a cheque are expected to be waiting a further three weeks. 

While the deadline has technically passed, late submissions still will be considered by the administrators the Garden City Group, but there is no guarantee of refund. 

UB (also known as Ultimate Bet) and Absolute Poker were part of the Cereus Network, which was previously shamed in the poker world for multiple cheating scandals from within, who ceased trading after Black Friday in 2011 when they were shut down by the US Department of Justice, leaving $33.5 million in funds for around 7,400 players unaccounted for.
