888poker LIVE Bucharest cancelled
More live poker events in Europe look poised to be postponed and we have now had the first US based poker event to be cancelled.
It looks like we are moving into the territory of all major poker tournaments in the next few weeks being cancelled, as another two poker tournaments have been postponed because of coronavirus.
888poker LIVE Bucharest, which was set to take place between March 23-29, has now been cancelled.

we recognize the health of attendees and participants comes first. It is on this basis that we have made the decision to cancel our 888poker LIVE Bucharest Festival 2020, acknowledging that allowing such a gathering to take place would risk undermining efforts to prevent 2/4

Player who have qualified for the event, including the winner of our own exclusive freeroll to the festival, will have the option to use their package for a future 888poker LIVE event of their choice in 2020.

More events poised to cancel
At the time of writing COVID-19 has been officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation and it looks like more events will be cancelled.
The first US based event has now been cancelled, the upcoming WPT Deepstacks event in Maryland:

Keep an eye on the Twitter account of Lex Veldhuis today as he has told his Discord followers that PokerStars will be making a decision on Lex Live, which takes place next month in London.
All of this comes less than 24 hours after both the Irish Open and WPT Barcelona were cancelled. It now seems inevitable that all major live poker events in the next few months will be cancelled, with all eyes on the World Series of Poker starting in May.
