Kiev Opens the New EPT Season

The EPT Kiev Main Event starts today, thus opening the sixth season of PokerStars European Poker Tour. The tournament will feature a new struture and run for five days.

As it was previously announced, PokerStars was forced to move its European Poker Tour stop in Moscow, Russia to Kiev, Ukraine due to the changes in poker law, as Russia no longer considers poker a sport.

Sixth edition of EPT

With Day 1A being held today, the EPT Kiev Main Event has marked the beginning of the sixth season of PokerStars EPT. The tournament is using a new structure which will be used as standard for all events in this season.

Players start with 30,000 in chips and levels last for 60 minutes on Day 1 and increase to 75 minutes on Day 2. The blinds begin at 50/100. The tournament runs for five days, meaning the EPT Kiev Main Event final table will be held on August 23. The EPT Kiev will also host a €20,000 No Limit Hold'em high-roller event which will kick off on Friday, August 21.
