2 Months, $2 Million: The 36 hour lockdown
8 weeks into the challenge, the 2m2mm team have achieved less than 10% of their $2 million target. With this in mind, team leader Brian Roberts made the decision to go into a lockdown.
With the quartet up by less than 200k going into the 8th week of their two month challenge, de facto team leader Brian Roberts decided that something drastic had to be done and came up with the idea of having a 36 hour lockdown.
With the lockdown in place, Dani Stern decided to play in tournaments while Jay Rosenkrantz went heads-up with "JD_Killer" in $50/$100 NL Hold'em. Jay totally crushed his opponent in the match, ending up with a profit of $93,500 before "JD_Killer" had enough and quit.
Jay brings in all the action
After his wonderful night, Jay woke up early the next morning feeling energized and ready to go. He sat down on the $200/$400 NL Hold'em tables with David "Viffer" Peat. Continuing his form from the night before, Jay quickly took down some early hands to take his lockdown winnings to more than $150,000.
Things however took a turn for the worse and Jay (pictured right) saw himself losing pot after pot. Not only did he lose all his winnings so far, he was down by a further $248,200 for the duration of the lockdown. Deciding that there must be a way to fix it, Jay vowed to continue playing until he won back the money, or until his account goes completely bust.
Finally, Jay figured out that "Viffer" would click the pot button to bet whenever he wanted to push Jay off his hands. By taking advantage of this tell, Jay turned things around and ended the game by taking down a massive $316,000 pot. In response to Jay asking if he was alright, "die in a grease fire" replied "Viffer" as the room broke out in laughter.
Here is how the four of them fared for the week:
