PokerStars introduce regular 2-day MTT

'The Weekender' is set to be a very player friendly tournament. Elsewhere, we have already had two $300,000 Spin & Go wins.

PokerStars tournament trophy

After sourcing feedback from the poker community, PokerStars have unveiled The Weekender. A major tournament that takes place over two days, every single weekend.

It has a $530 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee. The debut event is this Saturday, August 15 at 16:30 CET. Play pauses after 25 levels and resumes the next day again at 16:30 CET.

Rather than being a super deep tournament (thus needing two days), The Weekender looks more like it is just being very considerate of the players' weekend time. The blind levels start at 12 minutes and increase to 15 minutes after ten levels, and then to 20 minutes on Day 2.

This means that Day 1 lasts around a manageable six hours, rather than lasting till the early hours of the morning. It also ensures more play for those that make it to the deep stages of Day 2.

Two $100 Spin & Go Jackpots won

PokerStars Spin & Go

In just over a week, there have already been two winners of the $300,000 Jackpots for the newly introduced $100 buy-in Spin & Go tournaments

Amazingly both winners are from Hungary and they won the maximum multipliers in just a few minutes each.

Meanwhile ‘ian2104’ from Ireland, ‘AlexRAVXXX' from Russia, ‘barrakuuda4’ from Estonia and ‘wallaks’ from Israel all were consolated with $30,000 prizes just for being runners-up.
