If you want to talk about a double bad beat, Wolfsburg and Germany forward Max Kruse not only left €75,000 in poker winnings in the back of a taxi, when his club found out they fined him an extra €25,000.

A well known poker fan, last October he had a good night at the tables during the WSOPE. Unfortunately for him, he left the score in the back of a taxi and, as yet, has not had it returned.

It is not clear whether the club fined him for being so careless in public with his money, or for playing poker in the first place. The poker session took place just a day after Wolfsburg's 4-2 win against Hoffenheim. A club spokesman commented:

You might be a private person as a footballer when you are in your bed. At any other point, you are also an employee of the club. We have explained to him what sort of behaviour we expect from our players. We can only hope that he has been taught a lesson and will change his behaviour.

Kruse has not yet commented on the fine. He has contacted the taxi firm to try and recoup his money, but the taxi driver has not been identified.
