PokerStars tests new game 'Power Up'

A new format which looks like a mix of poker and Hearthstone is being Alpha tested in the United States.

PokerStars Power Up could be the next new format to target recreational players and is currently being tested by Play Money players in the US.

It looks like traditional Hold'em however a host of new 'powers' to influence the outcome of the hand appear to have been introduced, which from looking at the image below could include things like dealing yourself an extra hole card, removing a card from the board and redrawing cards.

The play looks a lot like a hybrid of poker and the card game Hearthstone, which is popular among a lot of poker players (including this writer). It also looks quite a lot like Hold'em X, which was tested last year.
