Another record breaking field in Europe
2,423 players in Italy once again shows that live poker is still on the up in Europe, with a record breaker for a brand new tour.
In 2025 PokerStars has streamlined their live poker offering, merging their regional tours into one series, the PokerStars Open.
The first event has just concluded in Campione, Italy, and it has carried on the trend of record-breaking fields in Europe.
2,423 players for the €1,100 Main Event, making it the largest-ever field assembled by PokerStars in Italy.
It was won by Adrian State of Romania who took it down for €363,000.
"It was an amazing experience with such huge field," said State after his win. "I'm really happy. Of course, you need to run extremely well to win a tournament, with coolers going your way, like the full-over-full hand at the final table. I'm really grateful for this win."
Next up for the PokerStars Open, is the Irish Open in Dublin next month. There will also be stops in Namur, Malaga, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Manchester, Malta, Prague and Cannes this year.
