Aussie Millions: opTi Wins $1,000 Opening Event
Christian 'opTi' Heich, one of the first Community members to join, won the $1,000+100 No-Limit Hold'em opening event of the Aussie Millions in Melbourne. For rank 1 he received (AUD) $150,000.
In
an almost one-hour heads-up,
opti (picture on the right) prevailed over Steve Topakas when it came to an all-in on the board of A-3-J-8. opti had hit the set with his pocket jacks, while Topakas was drawing to the straight. Luckily for the German, the river didn't hit, and so opti ended up on top of a field of 731 players. For our member it wasn't the first success in his still young career, but the most impressive one so far.
With 16 more tournaments to go, we will surely hear more about opti, and we can look forward to some exciting Aussie Millions moments.
