Cake Poker Announces WSOP Satellites
Cake Poker has just announced that it will start hosting satellites for the World Series of Poker Main Event which will begin on the 3rd of July. Besides the Main Event satellites, Cake Poker will also host satellites for Event No. 54.
57 events will be featured this year at the World Series of Poker, including the anniversary $40,000 No Limit Hold'em event and the $50,000 World Championship event.
The WSOP 2009 will start on the 27th of May and it will last until the 2nd of July, culminating with the Main Event which will be played between the 3rd and 15th of July. The Main Event Final Table will be played separately, just like last year, from the 7th to the 10th of November.
Every Sunday at 16:00 EST, Cake Poker will be hosting $435 buy-in satellites, with a WSOP Main Event package at stake worth $13,000 (the $10,000 buy-in and $3,000 in spending money).
For players not willing to pay $435 to try their hand at the WSOP Main Event can take part in two satellites to this $435 buy-in qualifier: there will be $75 satellites every Sunday at 13:00 EST, as well as a daily $22 rebuy tournament which takes place at 14:00 EST. However, the $75 satellite also has its own sub-satellite, a $5.50 buy-in qualifier. This one will also take place everyday at 14:00 EST.
Cake Poker has also added a steps program consisting of single-table SnGs, where players can earn a spot in the $435 satellite for $7.50.
Besides the satellites for the WSOP Main Event, seats for the $1,500 Event No. 54 will also be at stake. In order to get one of the 100 seats at stake, Cake Poker will be hosting $22 rebuy satellites each Saturday at 17:00 EST and Wednesday at 21:30 EST.
