Despite being up against some stiff opposition, PokerStrategist Michael 'kaytor' Gathy managed to claim the community's second bracelet of 2013.
Following in the footsteps of Martin '0piggybank' Finger, Gathy was able to overcome the likes of Jake Cody and Jason Duval to win the $1,000 Turbo No Limit Event and $278,613.
With support both online and inside the Rio, Gathy needed just 24 hands to beat Benjamin Reason heads-up.
After being pushed against the ropes by Gathy, Reason eventually made a mistimed move with

An ongoing court hearing in New York, linked to Lawrence DiCristina's regular poker games in Brooklyn, could have positive implications for online poker in the US.
Following an initial ruling that poker is a game of skill, the DOJ appealed the case and in a hearing on Wednesday they claimed DiCristina breached the Illegal Gambling Business Act (IGBA).
Although the case is still open, the fact the DOJ doesn't want to challenge the assumption that poker is a game of skill could be significant for the industry.
Indeed, online poker in the US is almost freerolling in this situation because if the DOJ successfully argue their case the current legal landscape will remain unchanged.
However, if DiCristina is successful, it would mean that the DOJ have no legal platform from which to attack poker on a federal level.

Russia continued to increase their medal haul yesterday, but thanks to strong performances from Hungary and Belgium, the current leaders were prevented from scooping any gold medals.
First to deny Russia another victory was Hungary's lacifiu.
Having pushed out Russia's "wslyusarw" in third place, lacifiu was able to hold his nerve and edge out ilch2002 to claim the gold medal and $95.
In Event #36 it was Hungary's yonggery0 who took the bronze medal, while vampiric from Russia had to settle for silver after losing heads-up to Belgium's pkplayer.

Thanks to his recent session spreading over two days, "Odd_Oddsen" (pictured left) managed to top yesterday's leaderboard with a $429,468 profit, just ahead of Isaac "luvtheWNBA" Haxton who banked $382,379.
Also performing well in the last 24 hours was Ben "Ben86" Tollerene ($261,408), Viktor "Isildur1" Blom ($254,279) and "Call_911" ($221,640).
"RagingHeart" emerged as yesterday's biggest loser with a deficit of $486,268, which put them above "MalACEsia" (-$305,294) and "Rhje" (-$217,292) on the loss leaderboard.
