Negreanu Rants On Location

He's back and this week he’s on location in Santa Monica. As is now becoming the norm, Daniel Negreanu has used his virtual plinth to preach about various topics in the poker world.

This week’s rant covers the WSOP’s rule relaxation and the need for poker to lighten up, his fantasy WSOP draft and his recent penchant for spiritual mind training.

We also get an insight into Daniel’s preferences when it comes to female fashion.

Highstakes Hollywood Poker

According to a celebrity gossip website, Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon can sleep easy now knowing that their poker exploits won’t be exposed to the masses.

The Hollywood stars were part of conman Bradley Ruderman’s poker games and became embroiled in the scandal when some of Ruderman’s victims wanted compensation from his poker winnings.

However, thanks to a series of settlements, the details of their high stakes home games will remain a secret.

In a statement to the media, Howard Ehrenberg, the bankruptcy trustee in charge of the Ruderman case, said: “The settlement of every poker related case without having had to incur the cost of taking any of them to trial means that the fund available for the victims has been maximized.”

Durrrr Talks Full Tilt, Macau and More

When you place one of poker's best players next to one of the game's best looking presenters, you've create an interview that's worth watching.

During a recent stint in Manila, Tatjana Pasalic caught up with Tom “Durrrr” Dwan to get his thoughts on everything poker.

The interview touches on everything from Tom’s opinions on US legislation, if he’d ever resign for Full Tilt and what the high stakes action is like in Macau.

If you can take your eyes off Tom’s interesting hairstyle then there are some interesting insights in the video.

Cody Wants to Crush Vegas

PKR's Jake Cody’s last blog post detailed his balla lifestyle and, not being one to disappoint, his latest entry continues that trend.

Having bombed every SCOOP event, the British pro is preparing to fly out to Las Vegas this week to take on the best in the world at the $25,000 WPT World Championship.

With the WSOP on the horizon he’s also been reliving last year’s achievements as well as looking forward to new ones.

In his own words, he’s “going to be a lot more professional this year”. However, with a two month stint on the Las Vegas strip ahead of him it seems unlikely that will happen.

High Stakes Corner

In the world of high stakes online tournaments there’s no one better than Shaun Deeb at the moment.

Not content with winning two PokerStars SCOOP titles and running away with the Player of the Series, Shaun managed to claim his third victory last night in Event #26, $2,100 Limit Stud Hi/Lo.

The 74 runner field contained a plethora of top players, including: Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo (14th), Sorel “zangbezan24” Mizzi (9th) and Eugene “E. Katchalov” Katchalov (4th).

Deeb bested them all, though, to claim his third SCOOP title of 2012 as well as $40,330.

Daily Signoff

Last year it was Jake Cody's finest moment at the felt and if he can keep away from the temptations of Vegas he may just win another title this time around.
