Spanish Switch Delayed

Online poker’s Spanish saga continued to drag on this week after the country's .ES launch was postponed until June 5th.
Originally the switch from .COM to the newly dedicated Spanish sites was meant to take place on June 1st; the same day as the first batch of licences are to be issued.
However, because of timing issues, it has now been pushed back because it would have fallen on a weekend.
A statement from JDigital, a company who look after the interests of the Spanish gaming market, read:
“Good industry practices indicate that this type of technical project should be set on a weekday and in the early morning, where there will be better response from technical teams and user volume and activity is more manageable.”*

WSOP Rant
Despite being wrapped up in this year's WSOP, Daniel Negreanu has still found some time to let off some steam with another video blog.

Premier League Preview
Party Poker has just released the preview for its forthcoming Premier League V.
Bringing together some of the best players in the world, the TV tournament produced some scintillating action and will be well worth watching when Sky Sports air the first episode on June 5th.
High Stakes Corner
The start of the WSOP has left some of the better known high stakes players somewhat preoccupied over the last few days, which has cleared the way for some fresh faces.
Indeed, racing to the top of the chip charts yesterday was German NLHE specialist Cort “thecortster” Kibler-Melby.
The young player stepped-up to the $200/$400 level yesterday and, after a short session, managed to walk away with $119,131 profit.
Of those who felt the wrath of negative variance in the last 24 hours, “mickan1984” was left the most battered and bruised.
The virtual grinder dropped $80,000 in just 139 hands, which was a few thousand more than “Suwalski” whose session ended with a $77,532 loss.
WSOP’s Toiletgate
A virtual storm raged over Twitter yesterday after the WSOP organisers decided to relocate the women's bathroom in favour of the men's.
