Donald Trump blocks Doyle Brunson on Twitter

The President-elect finds the time to block a poker icon on social media.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last month you will know that winning the Presidency has not softened Donald Trump's erratic behaviour on Twitter, and among other things he has been angrily tweeting about Saturday Night Live and Alec Baldwin's impersonation of him.

It seems also that Trump has had enough time in his busy schedule to take a pot shot at poker. We already knew his Vice President-elect Mike Pence has been anti-online poker in the past, now could Trump be too?

Bizarrely Trump has blocked poker legend Doyle Brunson on Twitter, meaning Trump can't see Brunson's tweets and vice versa. For those of you who are not fans of Twitter, this passive aggressive move is considered to be a real form of shunning online.

A week of mass blocking

It was particularly surprising because until recently Brunson had been something of a fan of Trumps. It was only towards the end of his campaign that he started to air some concerns about him.

At 83-years-young you may be surprised to hear Brunson is one of the most active Tweeters in the poker industry with over 400,000 followers and over 3,000 tweets.

However, it may be that Trump has not singled out Brunson personally or even blocked him himself, as many users this last week have reported that Trump's account has been mass-blocking Twitter users. Even 'unverified' users with tiny Twitter followers.

So US-based poker fans can probably rest safely knowing that this act alone is not a direct assault on online poker Stateside.
