Doug Polk's $100 to $10k challenge

WCGRider, this week embarked on a bankroll challenge where he hopes to turn $100 into $10,000.

Following a poll on his Twitter feed, Poker pro, Doug Polk has announced that he will attempt to undertake a bankroll challenge where he plans to turn $100 to $10,000. The challenge, as selected by his followers, will be streamed live on UpSwing Poker’s Twitch feed over a six to seven week period.

Polk's mission, which actually began on Sunday when he lost $17, is a familiar concept in the game, the most famous example being Chris “Jesus” Ferguson's 2006 attempt to create a $10,000 bankroll, starting out with nothing.

When asked why he is doing this, Polk said,

"I took on this challenge because I want to prove that, even in today’s tough online poker ecosystem, a hopeful micro stakes grinder can still run up a bankroll. The days of the 2003 poker boom may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean we have to give up and blame our failure on the system.”

Polk is playing the entire challenge on WSOP.com and has not stipulated any rules for his play, although, despite currently playing Pot-Limit Omaha, he plans for the majority of his of his games to be No-Limit Hold’em.

Do you think Polk wil be successful in his challenge?
