EPT Budapest Starts Today

The PokerStars European Poker Tour has its first stop ever in Budapest. With a buy-in of €4,000 and already about 400 registrations, it could very well become the biggest poker tournament of all times in Hungary. A few PokerStrategists will also be present.

The Las Vegas Casino in the Sofitel Hotel offers enough room for at least 500 players. However, previous EPT events already showed that the cap will be increased on short notice if the rush is too big.

With over 400 registrations so far, the event will almost be certain to link to the successes in Prague and Warsaw, and help the EPT to get an even higher profile in Eastern Europe as well.

Another factor will also be the numerous participants of Team PokerStars
which will be represented by players like Dario Minieri, Luca Pagano, Noah Boeken,
William Thorson, Victoria Coren, Katja Thater, Alex Kravchenko, Marcin
Horecki as well as the newly-crowned WPT winner and PCA champion Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier (picture).

They will be joined by over 100 online qualifiers who managed to grab a spot for the event via one of the numerous satellites on PokerStars. Amongst them is a group of PokerStrategists, namely Marko 'Infinity1000' Neumann, Mario 'Maddyhh' Puccini, Julian 'crazytalent' Peschel, Nico 'behlinho' Behling and Fredrik 'FiSheYe' Keitel.

PokerStars.de ShootingStars Sebastian Ruthenberg, Johannes Strassmann and Jan Heitmann will also participate.
