EPT Prague: Allanon85 Amongst The Last 32

32 players survived Day 2 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague and will battle it out for a seat at the final table in the Hilton this afternoon. Amongst them is also our PokerStrategist Daniel 'Allanon85' Drescher.

The 23-year old business informatics student from Saal, Germany had a stack of 224,000 chips in front of him at the end of the day, finishing tenth in the chip count. By the way, his first live performance was the Main Event of this year's WSOP where he had to join the rails before reaching the money ranks, however. It was especially unlucky as he dropped out with kings against aces.

'Allanon85' has been a member at PokerStrategy since 2006 already and enjoyed a few online successes since, before he really struck gold this year when he won the PokerStars Sunday Million and thus won $177,450 (Our successes: Allanon85 wins the Sunday Million).

Drescher and Ruthenberg on Top

Daniel is not the only German running good, however. Yesterday, he sat at a table with PokerStars.de ShootingStar Sebastian
Ruthenberg (picture on the left) who also showed a great performance and finished the day with 178,500 in chips. 'Allanon85' managed to avoid any bigger confrontations with the currently most successful German poker player, and his stack of 224,000 chips is even more impressive when one recalls that he started the day as short stack with only 15,000 chips.

Pros dropping like Flies

Italian Dario Minieri received a nasty beat when he went heads-up with pocket queens against Spaniard Raul Mestre who held A-Q. Already on the flop, the online cash game legend hit his ace, eliminating Minieri on rank 47 for €8,300. The same sum received Johnny Lodden, Juha Helppi, Petter Petterson, Alessio Isaia and Roberto Romanello.

One Finn in the Lead

The chip lead is held by a Finn. With 609,500 in chips, Fredrik Nygard
holds almost as many chips as all the remaining Germans in the tourney.

Current runner-up is the Frenchman Ludovic Lacay with 513,000 chips, followed by the Swede Rifat Palevic, who holds 368,000
chips. The remaining Top 10 is then very close together, and 'Allanon85' trails Konstantinos only by about 43,000 chips.
