EPT Prague will return this year

The popular December festival returns, as does a new PokerStars Open event in France in November.

Not for the first time, the announcement of EPT Prague took longer than expected. 

In recent years, there have been doubts over whether the tournament will take place at all, especially this year, after another mega event in Prague, the World Series of Poker Europe, took place earlier this month. 

However, this week it was confirmed that the popular winter festival would be returning from December 2-13.

The festival has provided an alternative for European players in recent years to the WPT World Championship and WSOP Paradise. Despite stiff competition from both events, EPT Prague has enjoyed record fields for the last few years. 

Other confirmed EPT events this year include EPT Monte Carlo, which gets underway today, and the often record-breaking EPT Barcelona, which takes place August 16-29. 

A new PokerStars Open festival

In addition to that major European Poker Tour event, another PokerStars Open Festival has been announced.

Aix-en-Provence in France will be making its debut this year from November 2-8.

Other PokerStars Open events scheduled so far this year include Namur between May 27-June 7, and Malaga, which takes place June 22-28.
