EPT Warsaw: Luca Pagano at the Final Table

PokerStars pro Luca Pagano breaks his own record in Warsaw. For the twelfth time, the Italian has handed in the money of an EPT event, for the fifth time he has reached a final table. He is only missing a victory so far.

24 players came to compete on Day 4 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Warsaw. All of them were granted the prize money of €6,874, the aim was to determine the eight final table's participants.

Pagano, the fifth

For the fifth time, Luca Pagano secured himself one of the coveted final tickets. A victory, however, was never granted to the Italian PokerStars pro. He never got beyond a third place at the EPT Barcelona 2004 – with a modest prize money of €20,000 at the time, and a sixth place at the EPT Grand Final 2008.

Today, Pagano starts in the final as one of the big stacks holding 984,000 in chips. With blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, Pagano carries a little more than 60 big blinds to the table and has thus a good starting position for today's action.

Oleksandr Vaserfirer chip leader

However, someone else is the clear chip leader. With 1,854,000 in chips, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Vaserfirer has considerably outperformed the rest of the field and today, starts into the final lengths ahead of his competitors.

Also Clayton Mozdzen is still in a hitting position. The Canadian, who ended Day 2 as the chip leader, has accumulated 978,000 and is thus third in chips.
 

Alexander Debus final table's bubble boy

The German Alexander Debus ended up as the bubble boy. With a little more than 10 BB, Debus pushed all-in. Pagano followed his example and Debus' A-6 played against Pagano's Q-Q. The flop brought a six, but the turn and river were blanks and so Debus had the dubious honour of being the final table's bubble boy.

Just one rank before the German, former chess pro Jeff Sarwer was sent to the rails. Having started the day as the chip leader, first, Sarwar lost a massive pot of almost 1.2 million to Oleksandr Vaserfirer, before he was eliminated by the Ukrainian just shortly before the day ended.
