Event 8 – Final Table set

89 players battled it out on the second day of the Mixed Event. Matt Glantz is chip leader of the final table. The winner will receive $483,680 of the $1,804,000 prize pool.

Over 14 hours of Playing Time

After more than 14 hours the final table of the initial 192 participants was determined. Only Matt Glantz has more than a million in chips (1,150,000). Eli Elezra will start as a short stack after dropping from 360,000 to 76,000 in the last few rounds.

 

Many Pros on the Rails

Once again, many pros were sent to the rails, including the WSOP Player of the Year 2007, Tom Schneider. He was eliminated in the 2-7
Triple Draw on rank 12. Johnny Chan also had to leave after Gus Hansen kicked him out of the race in NL Hold'em on rank 13.

Happy Birthday, Jeff Madsen!

Jeff Madsen is still around with 149,000 chips. The 22-year old was the WSOP Player of the Year in 2006, and set up the record of being the youngest WSOP Bracelet winner.
By now, this record was already broken again by Steve Billirakis and Annette Obrestad (in the WSOP Europe). Tomorrow, on June 7th, Madsen turns 23 by the way - and it could well be that he is still at the final table on midnight.
