Event 9 – Final Table set

The final table of the $1,500 Short-handed Event has been determined. Chip leader is John Conkright. The winner receives, apart from the obligatory bracelet, $372,843. Jan van Halle finished eleventh.

After the participants hurried through Day 1 and only 72 of the 1,236 starters made it to the second day, the six finalists for the final table were determined yesterday.

The most known players are probably Ralph 'Rep' Porter and Devin Porter. None of the finalists have a bracelet yet, Devin
Porter being the one who got the closest to one of the coveted bracelets when he finished fourth in the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em tourney of the WSOP 2007.

German players well ahead

Frank Blümlein had to join the rails as 17th which earned him $11,135. He was eliminated by Jared Okuns when he clashed with against Okuns' queens. The board wouldn't come up with the necessary help and thus it was over for Frank shortly before the finale.

Jan van Halle made it even further and finished 11th for $19,570. Pre-flop, he raised from the small blind with after a bet from the button. Devin Porter in the big blind had queens though so that Jan also had to surrender to the ladies like Blümlein did before him.
