Felix last German in the Main Event

Felix Osterland is already know the most successful German participant in the Main Event. As the only German he was able to survive Day 5. 79 players made it through the day. Chip leader is Mark Ketteringham with 5.8M chips.

The chip leader Mark Ketteringham has over 5,800,000 chips at his disposal. He is followed by Andrew Brokos (4,080,000) and Nikolay Losev (4,058,000) on ranks 2 and 3. The chip leader of the previous day, Jeremy Joseph, has 3,100,000 chips and is thus on rank 10. Cristian Dragomir, yesterday's runner-up in the chip count, finished the day almost break even and thus fell back on the 19th rank. He holds 2,372,000 chips.

Felix Osterland last German

PokerStrategist Felix' LawDoc' Osterland was able to prevail as the last German in the field. However he lost quite a few of his chips. Felix will start into the sixth day with 786,000 chips and is thus already forced to increase his stack early on.

Felix started the day on a rather difficult table. His opponents were Aaron Gordon, Brandon Cantu, Phil Hellmuth, Barry
Leventhal, Darren Grant, Peter Eastgate and David Saab. Brandon Cantu was the big stack, followed by Felix who held 1,491,000 chips.

Darren Grant already cracked Felix' queens early on. Under the gun he limped into the pot. Peter Eastgate imitated him. Felix raised, Grant called and Eastgate folded. The flop came with and both checked. On the turn came the and again both checked. The river card was the . Grant bet and Osterland called with . Grant however showed for the rivered flush.

Felix then had another hefty fight with Brandon Cantu. On the board of Felix check-raised Cantu. The later one made a three-bet and Felix called. The river came with the and Felix went all-in. Cantu pondered for quite some time and then folded his hand.

Gus Hansen eliminated

Gus Hansen endured the worst case scenario in two nasty hands and had to join the rails after a strong performance in the Main Event. In the first hand, 600,000 chips were already in the pot pre-flop. The flop came with and Hansen bet 189,000. Jeremy Joseph pushed all-in for 520,000 overall. Hansen had Joseph covered and called. Hansen held for the open-ended straight draw. Joseph flipped over  for Ace high. Coin flip. Turn and river didn't help Gus though. Ace high for Joseph beat Hansen's Queen high.

The end for the Dane came in the following hand. On the flop of Hansen went all-in and Chris Crilly called. Hansen showed , Crilly held . Hansen was ahead with 71%. The turn brought the
