Final Table set in Costa Rica

After almost 12 hours of poker on the second day of the PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour, the nine finalists have been determined. Unfortunately, HoRRoR dropped out as 20th.

85 players returned to the tables of the Ciarairi Country Club
to overcome another marathon day and determine the nine finalists. As the LAPT only appointed three tournament days, it's poker non-stop and a good stamina could be more important here than at other majors.

After five hours of playing time, the paid places came within sight. The Frenchman Xavier Dutrieu had the dubious honour of becoming the bubble boy, when he received from the dealer and pushed his short stack of 2.5BB all-in, only to get called by Steven Silverman in the big blind with . The flop with still looked good, and the on the turn made the Frenchman even a 90% favourite. But the
on the river changed everything again, giving Silverman the needed two pair and kicking out Dutrieu without any prize money.

Bitter Finish for HoRRoR

After the bubble, our coach and Pro blogger André "HoRRoR" Wagner was hit hard as well. In a monster pot, his aces got cracked by Alexander Soderlund
with pocket sevens who already hit his set on the flop. Turn and river brought no help for HoRRoR and about 70,000 chips changed owners.

A bit later, shortly before the dinner break, André found AKo on the button and raised to 16,000. Alec Torelli in the big blind put him all-in and showed J9s
after HoRRoR had called. A 60% advantage for HoRRoR, but the flop already gave Torelli his first 9. The river then completed the set and André finished on Rank 20. The $8,686 will only be a cold comfort. In André's German Pro blog you will surely find another entry very soon.

The Final Table

The American Steven Silverman secured the chip lead meanwhile when he will take 831,000 chips back to the final table. Silverman is one of seven PokerStars qualifiers on the final table. He is followed by his countryman Ashton Griffin with 761,000 chips. Steven Thompson
is one of the few players who immediately bought into the tournament and reached an ITM place. Furthermore, he's the last Costa Rican in the tournament. With only 195,000 chips though he's rather short already.

The finale will begin today at 12:00 local time (20:00 CET).
