Irish Open: Harrington, Gold, Furlong Join The Field
The Irish Open 2009 is gathering a stellar field, as Dan Harrington has recently confirmed his attendance to the event. He is the third world champion to join the field, as Jamie Gold and Noel Furlong have already done so just over a week ago.
The Irish Open 2009 is scheduled to take place from April 9 to 13. It is the longest running festival in Europe, with the buy-ins set at €3,200 + €300 for this year.
PaddyPowerPoker.com will have the biggest ever Irish Open promotion, the €100,000 Sole Survivor. The player who manages to outlast all other online qualifiers in the Irish Open and thus become the "sole survivor" will win €100,000.
In addition to the Sole Survivor promotion and the event's rich history, Irish Open 2009 will also gather some of the best poker players out there. One of such is Dan Harrington (pictured left) who was last seen in this event in 2007.
Harrington is well-known as the player who made two consecutive final tables in the WSOP main event in 2003 and 2004. He is also one of the five players who own both a WSOP main event title and a WPT title.
With his addition, the stellar field at Citywest Hotel in Dublin now has three former world champions, as Jamie Gold and Noel Furlong have already registered for the event just over a week ago.
