Is this the easiest WSOP-C win ever?

There were just five players after the flip stage of the WSOP-C Flip & Go event in London. Was that the easiest title win ever?

Earlier this year we wrote about the very easy victory in a WSOP-C online event. An online version of the coveted tournament took place in Michigan and only 15 players entered. 

This week at the WSOP-C festival in London we had potentially an even easier way to win a ring, at least in terms of the mental effort that must have gone into it. 

The festival hosted a £200 Flip & Go tournament, a live version of the GGPoker format that has recently caused controversy at the World Series of Poker. The Vegas version of that bracelet event attracted 1,022 entries, this one in London however, not so much. 

It appears that just 39 people entered the flip stage of the tournament, which meant that just five people made it to the second stage. Already in the money and at the final table, the eventual champion was Alexander Clark who got the ring and £2,960 first prize. 

39 people was more than the 15 in the aforementioned online WSOP-C event, but only five players in this tournament sat down for actual poker. Once they had navigated the mostly dumb luck of the flip stage (there is some skill in the discard strategy), Clark only had to beat four people to win the ring. Anyone who wins a WSOP-C ring is invited to the 2024 Tournament of Champions at the WSOP.
