More changes to the PokerStars VIP Club
Another revamp in 2017 with big changes coming for SuperNovas.
Over the weekend PokerStars announced a number of new changes to their VIP Club which will take effect next year.
It comes after what Vice President of Corporate Communications, Eric Hollreiser, calls a successful year after a previous major overhaul to the VIP Club. This success includes recreational players depositing more, more players seeing flops and new players playing more.
The first big change is that activity across all PokerStars platforms - poker, casino and sportsbook - will combine and contribute to a players overall VIP benefits.
'At some point in 2017' the VIP Club will stop resetting the players' VIP status progress at the end of a calendar month. PokerStars have said that most of their players play casually and intermittently, so next year a more bespoke status system will be implemented dependent on a player's recent activity.
The biggest change, however, is that as of January 1, 2017, SuperNova will no longer be an annual status. It will be a monthly status until the aforementioned personalised status system is introduced. Anyone who achieves Supernova in 2016 will retain their status until a such time as the new program is implemented. The value of monthly VIP rewards and VPP requirements for all statuses in 2017 is still subject to change.
No further information has been shared as yet, including no information what the monthly requirements in 2017 will be for SuperNova or what the new personalised status system could look like.
