PCA Day 1B: Results And Prize Pool Details Are In
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Day 1B has just ended, with 205 players managing to survive and move on to Day 2. Also the prize pool has been set to $12,674,000, while the first place prize is $3 million.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure - or PCA - started on January 5th and it will stretch across five playdays, all in the comfort of the Atlantis Resort and Casino Imperial Ballroom in the Bahamas.
The fact that the buy-in has been increased from $8,000 to $10,000 could have meant a smaller player base, but that quickly proved to be wrong, as the number of registrations was actually bigger than last year (1,347 compared to last year's 1,136).
Due to the fact that the buy-in was increased, the prize pool got a boost as well: $12,674,000 are at stake this time, with $3 million going to the first place finisher. This is the 10th tournament in the history of poker that offers a first place prize of at least $3 million.
Since the prize pool has been set, we now know how the payout structure looks like: top 199 players will receive cash prizes, with over $8 million going to the final nine. Here is the final table payout structure:
