PCA: High Roller Event: PokerNoob on Final Table

The PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure High Roller event was played from the remaining 24 players down to the final table. The last 8 players are no strangers to the Poker tables and chip leader is Team PokerStrategy.com's PokerNoob.

Day 3 of the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure High Roller event turned out to be incredibly long. On Day 2, the field shrunk from 54 players to just 24 in a time span of 4 hours.

In comparison, on Day 3 it took the exact same amount of time to go from just 9 players to the final 8. Eventually it was PokerNoob who dealt the final blow, by taking out Sandra Naujoks in 9th place with J-J against her A-9o.

Minieri exits as the bubble boy

The money bubble was burst at 17th place with the chip leader of Day 2, Dario Minieri, being awarded the doubtful honour of being bubble boy. It was Alex Brenes who collected the last of Minieri's chips, with his pocket nines against Minieri's A-Qo pre-flop all-in. After the bubble, chips flew and player numbers went quickly down to nine.

PokerNoob stole a big pot from 2005 WSOP Main Event champion Greg Raymer, on his path to the final table. On a board of , Raymer went all-in for 200,000 chips in a pot of around 100,000. PokerNoob quickly called with for the second nuts and Raymer mucked his .

After that hand, PokerNoob picked up a lot of pots uncontested and managed to build his stack up to 500,000 with blinds of 5,000-10,000. He lost an all-in versus Molson for a 300,000 pot, with A-Js against K-Qo, but it didn’t matter. He kept picking his spots and building his stack.

Play unofficially reached the final table when Alex Brenes ran into trouble with Pokernoob and had to leave in 10th place. Brenes moved all-in for 158,000 with K-6o from the big blind after PokerNoob had opened the button to 24,000. PokerNoob announced the call and showed A-9o. He asked for an ace and got one better with an board. Not satisfied yet, he still called for an ace to lock the hand, but another 9 on the turn had an equal positive effect. Brenes managed to spike a 6 on the river, but it was to no avail.

Short stacks were never harder to bust

Pokernoob entered the unofficial final table second in chips with a stack of 850,000. At this point everyone was preparing to leave in 15 minutes. There were three short stacks on the table with less than 15 big blinds each. However, it would take 4 hours and 22 minutes before one of them finally surrendered.

All short stacks doubled up in the first hour and play continued. We saw 9 all-ins, each time the short stack taking the upper hand. It was eventually in the 10th all-in that Sandra Naujoks was forced to leave the field.

PokerNoob opened MP2 and it went uncontested. He then opened MP1 and it went uncontested again. He opened UTG+1 all in a row and Sandra Naujoks decided to ship all-in for 270,000 with A-9o at blinds of 10,000-20,000 . PokerNoob checked her stack, to be on the safe side, but soon made his call with pocket jacks. His hand held up and Naujoks had to pack her bags; out in 9th place.

Pokernoob is now the chip leader by a convincing margin. He has a little over 1 million in chips and is followed by Uruguayan Adolfo Vaeza with 790,000.  The final table will kick-off at 18:00 CET and an online live stream will be available.
