Phil Ivey to Attend APT Macau

The organizers of the Asian Poker Tour have scored a real coup after they managed to secure Phil Ivey's attendance at the upcoming APT Macau that is starting on November 6.

The field of the APT Macau 2010 just got a lot tougher, after Phil Ivey (pictured right) announced his intentions to play there. This will be a great chance for his fans in that part of the world, to catch a glimpse of their idol in action.

The eight time WSOP bracelet winner who is considered by many to be the best player in the world today, will be attending the events which are set to take place from November 6 to November 14 in the Hard Rock Poker Lounge in Macau.

2009 winner earned close to $400,000

In 2009, Frenchman Adrien Allain bested the 326 man field in the main event to take home the prize of almost $400.000. Australian David Steicke finished second while JC Tran was third.

Johnny Chan was the biggest star to grace the field of the APT Macau last year and he also finished in the money there, earning just over $10,000 for his 23rd place finish in the main event. Several other pros like David "Chino" Rheem and Liv Boeree also made cashes there last year.
