Poker in the mainstream press
Dan Smith, Eugene Katchalov and Vanessa Selbst have all made waves outside of poker recently in the mainstream media.

With the WSOP Main Event about to resume next week, expect poker to feature a lot in the mainstream press this month. However, it already has been getting a lot of attention recently.
We are used to seeing Dan Bilzerian and Phil Ivey make the headlines this year, but some of our other stars have caught media attention in the last month.
Vanessa Selbst is the most recent example, as she has just featured in a widely distributed in-flight magazine - Hemispheres.
It's a pretty big feature and very complementary of the all-time leading female money winner, and the magazine has a readership of 12 million a month.
Eugene the cover model

Elsewhere American/Ukrainian pro Eugene Katchalov continues his rise as a media darling.
He has previously been featured in a health magazine for his impressive weight loss, and also appeared on a Ukrainian reality show.
Now he has made the front cover of a Ukrainian celebrity gossip magazine along with Anna Selyukova. We are not sure who she is, but Eugene looks very happy to be there.
Dan Smith on risk

Finally, current Global Poker Index leader Dan Smith has penned an article on the very popular Entrepreneur.com.
In it he compares the risks taken by poker players with the risks entrepreneurs take every day.
He shares four tips on improving your mindset in a risk heavy pursuit, which include 'manage your expectations' and 'avoid tilt by moving on from mistakes'.
It is a very good read from one of the best minds in the game right now.
Who else in poker would make a great story for the mainstream press to feature? Let me know in the comments.
