PokerStars Cash Outs Available for U.S. Residents

Less than two weeks after the United States indicted the operators of the three largest Poker companies catering to U.S. players, PokerStars has already arranged for American customers to retrieve their funds.

On April 15th, the United States Department of Justice indicted individuals associated with PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker/UB.

One of the primary concerns that most players had was whether or not they would be able to retrieve the funds in their accounts. Within a week of the indictments, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker reached deals with the Department of Justice which returned their domain names and allowed the sites to send American customers their money.

PokerStars has now officially begun their cash out process. All Americans who view the cashier at PokerStars receive the following message:

Upon choosing "Cash Out", players are brought to a screen with all of the available cash out options.

The three options for payment are as follows:

• Cashout Request to Wire Transfer - Players with $50,000.00 or greater in their accounts can receive a wire transfer.
  
• Check in US Dollars - Player funds of any size over $100.00 are sent via a check to the player's address.  This can take up to 15 days for processing and delivery.
  
• Cashout Request to Direct Bank Transfer - Player funds of any size over $1.00 are credited directly to a bank account. This process typically takes less than 5 business days from the time of processing.
