PokerStars to ban ICM tools
PokerStars has announced that using ICM tools while playing on PokerStars will be prohibited. Of course, off the tables, the programs can still be used.
After an unspecified period of grace, PokerStars wants to banish the ICM calculators from the tables once and for all. Players who still use such software then will either be warned or could even have their accounts temporarily blocked.
The ICM (Independent Chip Model) is a mathematical model for the late phase of tournaments with relatively small stacks, which - simply put - attributes the chip stacks in a tournament/SnG to certain monetary values and thus helps to make a mathematically correct decision.
Our ICM trainers, to be found in the category Downloads,
are, of course, still legal as they cannot be used during a tournament. Instead, they offer you training sessions which are independent of the poker software, to give you a feeling for the model.
