PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure: Three PokerStrategists Still In The Hunt

The hunt for the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure title continues and after three play days, Pokernoob, ChessmasterD and FA_Morgoth are all still in the tournament. The bubble was burst on Day 3, as there are now only 62 players left.

Day 3 of the PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure had 314 starters and among them was still Team PokerStrategy.com member PokerNoob.

Play on Day 3 featured six levels with each one lasting for half
an hour. When the field got down to just 224 players, the bubble was burst and a huge cheer went through the
tournament area, as the remaining players secured themselves a minimum payday of $15,000.

Three PokerStrategists still standing

By the end of the day, only 62 players were still
standing, including three PokerStrategists – fa_morgoth, chessmasterd and
PokerNoob.

It was not until the field had been cut down by 2/3 that the first PokerStrategist was busted out. After radience 4-bet shipped all-in his pocket queens only to find out he was up against pocket aces, his tournament life was over and he had to pack his bags in 122nd place.

After Radience, it was lechuckpoker who followed shortly afterwards in a
similar fashion. First, he bumped with his pocket jacks into pocket aces which cost him the majority of his stack. He then pushed his
chips into the middle holding K-Q suited, but was again called by aces and sent
to the rail in 119th place.

River nine strikes Nasr

It seemed as if PokerStrategy.com casualties were raining across the tables during this
period. Nasr hierkommtdiemaus El Nasr (pictured right) had arguably the toughest beat of the day.
With 117 players left, Nasr called an all-in for a 1 million chip pot
after betting flop and turn on a K-6-4-7 board with two spades.

The
average stack at this point was only 370,000. HierkommtDieMaus showed
pocket aces and saw he was in good shape against villains K-9 off suit. However,
a 9 on the river brought havoc for Nasr and he was forced
to leave the tournament area.

tonding was the last PokerStrategists to go before the end of the day. He seemed invincible, as he
climbed back from his 20,000 stack all the way up to 400,000. With the field down to 76
players, he got it in for his tournament life with pocket kings on a J-6-7 board with
two diamonds. Villain held and managed to spike
a 5 on the river.

Pokernoob clashes with AeJones

Meanwhile, PokerNoob (pictured right) had a great day. He started the day with 319,000 in chips and
hovered around that mark for most of the time.

However, his stack suffered a huge beat when he clashed with the online pro AeJones. PokerNoob flopped top
two pair, but got runner runnered for a straight by AeJones.

After this,
he was left with 170,000 in chips when the blinds were already 5,000
-10,000. With an aggressive play, he managed to build his stack up back to
390,000 without a showdown.

At this point, the key hand of the day came along for PokerNoob. He had
been playing fairly tight throughout all day, but just pushed and re-pushed a lot
of hands. He opened UTG and got called by the chip leader.

AeJones
squeezed from the big blind and PokerNoob went all-in with pocket
Queens. It only took AeJones two seconds to make the call with pocket jacks. Queens held up and PokerNoob doubled through to 800,000. He finally

A turbulent day for ChessmasterD

ChessmasterD was cruising through most of the day and even broke the one million
chip mark. However, he ran into trouble towards the end of the day which left him with just 386,000 of that million he had accumulated.

Morgoth was playing steady during the day. He said his table
was quite solid and boring, leaving little room for plays. Right before
the day concluded, he took a nice double up. He got it in with K-T off suit against
Q-8 off suit. The hand held and Morgoth was up to 304k in chips, giving him
close to 20 big blinds to start Day 4 with.

Average stack on Day 4 will be 728,000 and the blinds will begin at 8,000/16,000 with 2,000 ante. The remaining PokerStrategists PokerNoob (710,000), ChessmasterD (386,000) and Morgoth (304,000) will now have to pass yet another obstacle towards the $2,200,000 first place prize.
