Pokerstars.com EPT Barcelona: Day 1b Recap
Nazgul, Pokernoob and Trader started their first day of the Main Event in Barcelona. They were joined by several other PokerStrategy.com players and a whole bunch of stars.
Nazgul had a dashing start. Within the first hour he managed to win a huge pot with pocket kings against pocket queens after some heavy pre-flop action.
Fun fact to know is that he was on a true star table. Pro player Ivan Demidov and Betrand Elky Grospellier were at the same table and all of them were accompanied by former tennis pro Boris Becker.
After the kings things took a slower pace for Nazgul and he finished the day at a solid 74,200, which gives him well over average for day two. The average should be around 52,000 for the next day of play.
Pokernoob had an even better start as he managed to hit top set while holding a pair of jacks. He got them paid well off and had a stack of 48,000 before the first hour passed. The starting stacks were 30,000. At the end of the day Pokernoob managed to build his stack up to 125,700. That will put him in the top ten for day 1b.
Trader decided to take a ride on the rollercoaster. Initially he started off slow, but he must have heard rumors from his fellow Team PokerStrategy.com members and started playing a bit more aggressive. He had 90k halfway through the day and that was good for the near chip lead. Then he decided to make an aggressive bet, which put him into ruins and left him with only 18,000. He scrambled back a bit to 35,000 at the end of the day.

benjo ended the day with 33,000. abnoe ended the day at 75,000.
panny1 unfortunately busted after the dinner and we're unsure what happened to hierkommtdiemaus.
Famous Players
Today was a true celebrity fest here in Barcelona. Nazgul was welcomed by Boris Becker at his table, who unfortunately didn't last very long. Olympic gold medal winner Fatima Moreira de Melo took a seat at the table of Sandra Naujoks and had to waive her goodbye before the dinner break arrived. A legion of famous poker players also entered on day 1b. Most notable amongst them are probably: Daniel Negreanu, Peter Eastgate, Vanessa Rousso and Lex Veldhuis.
