Sunday News Flash: Hansen $5 Million Up Since October; Kaplan Leaving HSP

Gus Hansen is on a roll at the nosebleed stakes, winning over $5 million in his last 100,000 hands played online. Meanwhile, it has been announced that Gabe Kaplan is no longer a part of the HSP show, as Norm MacDonald replaced him in the latest, seventh season.

Gus has been as dominant as ever, winning over $5 million in the last 100k hands.

After having his ups and downs, Gus Hansen seems to be back to his winning days. Starting back in October last year, Hansen has turned the tides of online nosebleed stakes and started winning consistently.

Hansen dominating the PLO games

The Great Dane has now amassed over $5 million in winnings in his last 100,000 hands at the highest stakes in online poker. His strongest game has proven to be PLO Cap $500/$1,000 in which he has won close to $2 million.

Hansen's main victims were Daniel "Jungleman12" Cates and David Benefield, losing $891k and $477k respectively to the Dane.

Other games Hansen has been doing well at include uncapped PLO $500/1,000 and $200/$400, adding over $1 million to his pocket there.

Gabe Kaplan no longer HSP host

Kaplan is leaving

It has been announced this week that the voice of High Stakes Poker, Gabe Kaplan, is no longer a part of the show.

After being the host for the past six seasons, Kaplan has now withdrawn from that role.

Taking Kaplan's place in the upcoming season is a comedian and poker player Norm MacDonald.

This is another big change for the show, after having A.J. Benza replaced in the previous season and Full Tilt Pros denying their presence in the latest one.

Seventh season of High Stakes Poker, presented by PokerStars, will premier on Saturday, February 26. The show was filmed using 3D technology and will feature top pros playing in a cash game with the minimum buy-in of $200,000 and a maximum buy-in of $500,000.
