Today PokerStars has announced details of the next Caribbean Adventure. Betclic and Everest are the latest poker rooms to join forces. Poker celebrities are urged to tweet to regulate the game, and Blair Hinkle remains upbeat despite having $1 million stuck on Full Tilt.

2012 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure Announced

The nine annual PCA has been announced for January 5-14 2012, with the $10,300 main event taking place between January 7-13.

The festival is consistently the largest event outside of the WSOP, and last year Galen Hall took down $2.3 million when he outlasted 1559 other players to capture the title.

There is also one of the best side event schedules of the year, with a huge variety of buy-ins and formats included.

The two events to watch there will no doubt be the $25,000 high roller and the $100,000 super high roller event, which was won last year by Eugene Katchalov for $1.5 million, after he defeated Daniel Negreanu heads-up.

Betclic Joins Everest

News of a major poker merger today as Betclic Poker has joined the Everest Poker network.

It looks like a great move for both Betclic and Everest players, as the monthly overall tournament prize pools have increased to more than $1.25 million. New players will also be able to get free access to 30 daily freerolls with their first deposit.

Poker Celebrities to Speak Out?

US poker players are understandably trying to start a campaign to show Senators how important regulating online poker is. Yesterday over on 2+2, a campaign was started to encourage poker playing celebrities to join the cause.

Several posters went to great lengths to compile a massive list of the social media profiles of well known poker celebrities, along with some pre-formatted tweets to encourage them to join in.

Along with all the famous poker pros, you get some big names including Ray Romano, Tobey Maguire, Matt Perry, Adam Sandler, and Jason Alexander.

Even if you don't want to support the cause, this is actually one of the most comprehensive lists of famous poker pros on twitter and well worth checking out.

High Stakes Corner

Spare a thought for WSOP bracelet winner Blair Hinkle. In February he chopped the FTOPS main event and took down one of the biggest prizes in the history of the competition, nearly $1.2 million.

But seven months on and he still hasn't seen a cent of it. In an interview with CardPlayer he revealed that the company took a month to respond to his request to increase his daily cashout limit, and was then asked to re-verify his account.

Before this process was complete, Black Friday happened, and not a single one of his cashout requests for $48,000 were processed.

While most of us would have pulled our hair out by this point, Hinkle remains surprisingly upbeat about the whole situation. He told CardPlayer:

"My style of play in tournaments has always been to care less about the money and more about winning the event. For that reason I don’t view money as something you should get upset about. Most good poker players have a good way to get over a losing session or a downswing."

"I think this mindset has helped me with the Full Tilt situation and allowed me to concentrate on other things in life. I know that I’m going to be successful with poker in the future. If I don’t get the $1 million, I’ll just have to grind away again.”

$1 million stuck in Full Tilt, Blair Hinkle took it well, somehow.
