Unibet introduce auto-folder

There has been a substantial amount of concern today at the introduction of some new updates to the Unibet Poker software.

The Microgaming room detailed news of their latest software update, including a new application called Pocket Card Manager. According to Unibet, the Pocket Card Manager enables players "to automatically fold those pocket cards that you would normally fold in early, middle or late position".

PartyPoker changes rake structure

PartyPoker has announced they are changing the way pots will be raked. From today, rake that a player produces will be shifted from dealt to weighted contributed rake.

In terms of earning PartyPoints, the shift undoubtedly favours looser players, who will earn at a much faster rate than tighter players, whereas before the rake accrued was spread out evenly amongst the players dealt into hands.

APPT reaches New Zealand, LAPT set for Colombia

The latest leg of the APPT has hit the adrenaline junkie capital of the world, Queenstown, New Zealand.

Away from the tables, players are able to snowboard, bungee-jump and skydive to their heart's desires but all of them will have been vying for the APPT crown once they stepped inside the Sky City Casino.

After days 1a and 1b were completed, just 47 players remain with PokerStrategy.com member Jackson chenny8888Zheng in good form again. He sits with 80,125 going into day 2, good for 3rd spot overall. 

In other tournament news, the LAPT is set to make its debut in a new city, as it was announced that it's headed to Medellin, Colombia, as part of the Colombia National Poker Championship.

From October 12th-18th the Allegre Casino Medellin will hold the 1.8 million Colombian Peso buy-in tournament. Before you gasp at the buy-in, don't worry, 1.8m Pesos is the equivalent to $1,000 USD!

High stakes corner

After last weekend’s insane swing from Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and big upswings from Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond and Ronny "1-Ronnyr3" Kaiser this week, yesterday it was the turn of Phil "takechip" D'Auteuil to steal the show, tearing up the $50/$100 NL tables and $100/$200 to the tune of $226,669.

His main adversary was Ben "Ben86" Tollerene who dropped $98,055, with Rafi "refaelamit" Amit yesterday’s biggest loser, being stuck $100,686 for the last 24 hours, according to HSDB.

As I write this, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Ilari "Iliari FIN" Sahamies are in the middle of a tense $100/$200 PLO match so who knows where this one is going! We'll be back with the latest updates tomorrow.
