The WCOOP Main Event starts today
The online version of the WSOP culminates today with the $5,000 Main Event where $1.5 million is guaranteed to the winner.
The $102,000 Super High Roller may have got the poker world talking but, as always, this is the biggest online tournament of the poker year.
The $5,000 two-day Main Event starts today at 14:00 ET. It has a $10 million guarantee and $1.5 million is guaranteed for the eventual champion.
This time last year 'Coenaldinho7' won this event for $1.3 million after a four-way deal that created two other millionaires. The event attracted 1,995 entries.
Previous WCOOP Main Event winners have also included JC Tran, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and (of course) Fedor Holz.
For the first time ever the Main Event will not be the final day of WCOOP events as three more will take place tomorrow as this event concludes.
Also starting today at the same time is the first ever Mini WCOOP Main Event which has a $50 buy-in and a $200,000 guarantee.
Satellites will be running around the clock at PokerStars today to qualify for the Main Event until late registration is over.
