One of the most anticipated WPT events, the Bay 101 Casino's Shooting Star Tournament, has finally arrived. Action begins today with Day 1A as up to 250 players can enter the tournament in hopes of being the most successful bounty hunters. Each bounty a player claims will earn him a $5,000 bonus.
One of the most anticipated WPT events, the Bay 101 Casino's ShootingStar Tournament, has finally arrived. What makes this tournament so
unique are the $5,000 bounties on each of the designated players.
In
order to make an even distribution of bounty players at the tables,
seats are assigned in advance as players register and the event is
capped at 500 entries. At least one bounty player will be seated at
each table.
The tournament begins with Day 1A on Monday, as up to 250 players can
enter, followed by Day 1B which will be held on Tuesday, March 17. Chip
lead should also attract players' attention as the chip leaders at the
end of Day 1A and 1B will earn $10,000 bonus. The winner of the
tournament will receive an entry to the Season 7 WPT Championship.
Brandon Cantu won the tournament last year and will participate in it
again, as he is scheduled to begin on Day 1A. His road to victory in
2008 was quite impressive, he was the chip leader at the end of his
starting day and also collected four bounties, which earned him
additional $30,000 next to the $1 million he collected for winning the
whole tournament.
The final table of this year's Bay 101 Casino's Shooting Star
tournament will be filmed as the remaining players will take their
seats on Friday, March 20.
