WPT Merit Cyprus Classic Starts Today
The waiting is over, the World Poker Tour is back for its eleventh season today in Cyprus. $1,000,000 is guaranteed in the $4,400 main event, starting this afternoon.

The new season of the World Poker Tour kicks off today with the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in Kyrenia, Cyprus. Day 1A of the $4,400 re-entry main event gets under way at 13:00 local time and boasts a guarantee of $1,000,000.
The last incarnation of this event took place in 2009, when Thomas Bichon of France walked away the champion, with a first prize of $579,165.
The word on the street is that hundreds of players from the Russian poker community are expected to play, and the cash games are going to get crazy.

It is too late to win your seat into this event, but two more major European legs of the World Poker Tour are now open to qualification on PartyPoker and WPT Poker.
You can win a $6,500 package to WPT Malta that includes $4,200 entry, five star accommodation, and $850 spending money.
On Sundays at 14:50 ET you can win your package in a direct $350 qualifier, with feeder satellites running around the clock starting at freerolls.
Or you can win a $13,000 package to the legendary WPT Grand Prix de Paris, which includes accommodation, $1,400 spending money, and the $9,500 buy-in.
$700 direct qualifiers take place on Sundays at 15:20 ET, with feeders running 24/7.
