WSOP Event #28: Van Dung Nguyen Takes The Lead
360 players make it through day one of the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Event and the money bubble has yet to burst in the 2,638 participants strong tournament.
As expected of any No Limit tournament, the list of participants was filled with known names. To go through just a few: Ylon Schwartz, Allen Kessler, Jimmy Fricke, Humberto Brenes, Jamie Gold, Tom McEvoy, Ivan Demidov and many more will be fighting things out with our PokerStrategist jonathanlittle - check out his blog here.
Eric Lynch was one of the first notable players to bust early in this tournament. With his JT, he flopped the nuts on the Q98 flop. The opponent ran the hand down with his 99 and completed a full house when turn and river came down 5Q.
Jonathan Little couldn't really change his fate of the past days and was sent to the rail again early this day. Phil Hellmuth quickly followed him there when his 
didn't hit in a flip against an opponent's 
.
J.C. Tran was the next pro to be eliminated when he got the remainder of his short stack in on a flop with three clubs. He revealed a pair plus flush draw, but when his opponent flipped over 
for the better pair and flush draw, he was left with only the outs to his trips or two-pair. He couldn't catch them, though, and had to take his leave.
The tens seemed to be the downfall for the big names today, as John Juanda (pictured left) busted with 
against an opponent's 
. Sharing the same fate as Hellmuth, he couldn't catch a pair and went from an impressive above average stack straight to the rail.
Ivan Demidov, on the other hand, seemed to be doing rather well when he climbed to 19,000 in chips after eliminating yet another opponent. This time, it was his 
who was good enough to call the short stack's 
shove from the button - he hit his king and could rake in another nice pot.
As the end of the day approached, the play considerably tightened up and there weren't many showdowns. In a last notable double-up, Marco Johnson was able to take 4th place in chips by cracking his opponent's aces. The chips went in on the

On the turn, one of his five outs hit the board, though, and the finished off the opposing
