WSOP Event #4: 50 Players Remain After Day 2
Day 2 of the $1,000 NL Hold'em event saw a double bubble burst, some huge pots wagered between the players and amidst all of this action, Robert Comegy rose into the chip lead.
Day 2 of the WSOP $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament saw 760players returning to the tables and only 621 would be getting paid with
the bottom spot receiving $1,894 and the first place finisher grabbing
a huge $771,106 award along with a bracelet.
The hand-for-hand play started when there were only 630 players
remaining and the bubble was slowly approaching. On the fourth hand of
the hand-for-hand play, two encounters occurred at the opposite sides
of the room with one player left to go before the money was reached.
On one side, Jeff Greco called a re-raise all-in on a 7-5-4 board with
pocket eights against the other player's T-4. Two more tens came to the
board to give the other player a full house. On the other side of the
room, Jonathan Aguiar raised to 2,300 with A-9, Petr Kadavy re-raised
to 9,000 with pocket kings and Aguiar made the call. The board came
A-Q-2-4. The two players split the 621st money prize and the action
steamed up after this double bubble burst.
Ho. White raised to 15,000, Ho three bet to 45,000, White replied with
a four bet to 145,000, Ho moved all-in and White snap-called with
pocket aces while Ho revealed A-Q.
The board came 
and Ho was in a state of shock with his mouth open. Eric Mizrachi
commented that he was in "poker coma", meanwhile the stacks were so big
that a floor person had to come to count them down. 5 minutes later, Ho
was left with 60,000 chips while White got up to 681,000. Ho was busted
shortly after when his A-T lost to pocket sevens.
J.C. Tran (pictured left) was raising a lot throughout the day, but it turned out be adangerous business when you have a few big stacks at the table. Zach
Melaney took advantage of this and in a few clashes, he got Tran down
to below 100,000 chips. while building his stack up to over 350,000.
Tran managed to recover and grind his way above the 150,000 chips mark
but then he hit the rail in 68th place after moving all-in with A-T and losing against 
, as the board revealed another queen on the river.
With Day 2 coming to an end, only 50 players secured their seats for the following day which will be played until the final table. Robert Comegy is currently in the chip lead with nearly 1.2 million chips. Here are the top 10 chip stacks after Day 2:
