Overdrive Series Enters Final Stretch
The WPT Asia Series: Overdrive is approaching its finish line, but some of the biggest value of the entire festival is still waiting to be claimed.
Four WPT Rings remain on the schedule, with ¥10 million (approx. $1.48 million) guaranteed across those four events alone, while another ¥800,000 (approx. $119,000) is allocated to the final two weekly leaderboards. Daily Missions continue to add extra value throughout the closing stretch as well.

And once Overdrive wraps up, there is already another target on the horizon. WPT Seoul qualifiers are now live on WPT Global, offering a route from a $1.10 Step to a $1,500 live package for the WPT's upcoming debut at INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in South Korea.

Four WPT Rings and ¥10 Million GTD Still to Come
Overdrive runs until August 30, with two major Sundays left on the schedule and four Championship Rings still up for grabs. The first comes on August 23, when the ¥660 (approx. $98) Mystery Nitro Championship puts ¥2 million (approx. $297,000) guaranteed on the table.
On the same day, the Boost Mode MYSTER¥ Phase reaches Day 2 with an even bigger ¥2.5 million (approx. $371,000) guarantee from a buy-in of just ¥188 (approx. $28).
The final Sunday then turns the dial up again:
- 🔥 August 23 – Mystery Nitro Championship: ¥660 (~$98) buy-in, ¥2M (~$297K) GTD
- ⚡ August 23 – Boost Mode MYSTER¥ Phase: ¥188 (~$28) buy-in, ¥2.5M (~$371K) GTD
- 🏆 August 30 – Grand Prix Main Event: ¥880 (~$131) buy-in, ¥2.5M (~$371K) GTD
- 🚀 August 30 – Full Throttle MYSTER¥ Phase: ¥188 (~$28) buy-in, ¥3M (~$445K) GTD
Together, those tournaments offer ¥10 million (approx. $1.48 million) in guaranteed prize pools and four more opportunities to leave Overdrive with a WPT Ring.
The MYSTER¥ Phase events are particularly appealing from a value perspective. Both come with a ¥188 (~$28) buy-in, yet Boost Mode offers ¥2.5 million (~$371,000) guaranteed and Full Throttle raises the guarantee to a massive ¥3 million (~$445,000).
That makes the closing schedule attractive beyond the headline Main Event. There are still relatively affordable ways to take a shot at some of the largest prize pools left in the series.
The Biggest Overdrive Weekend Is Saved for Last
Everything builds towards August 30. The Grand Prix Main Event is the headline tournament of the finale, combining an ¥880 (~$131) buy-in with ¥2.5 million (~$371,000) guaranteed and a WPT Ring for the champion.
Alongside it, Full Throttle offers another Ring and ¥3 million (~$445,000) guaranteed from a buy-in of only ¥188 (~$28).
That puts ¥5.5 million (approx. $816,000) GTD across just two Ring events on the final Sunday, making the closing weekend one of the most valuable points of the entire 43-day festival.
Another ¥800,000 in Weekly Leaderboard Prizes
Tournament prize pools are only part of the remaining value.
Overdrive features six independent weekly leaderboard races worth ¥2 million (approx. $297,000) in total, and the two richest weeks are the ones closing out the festival.
- 📈 August 17–23: ¥400,000 (~$59,000) leaderboard
- 🏁 August 24–30: ¥400,000 (~$59,000) leaderboard
Unlike one long series leaderboard, the rankings reset for each new week. That is particularly useful for players joining the action late, because everyone starts from zero again when the final leaderboard begins on August 24.
Players earn points through tournament finishes, while registering before the start of eligible events can generate additional Early Bird points. Early registrants who are eliminated around the bubble can also collect Bubble Points.
Each of the final two leaderboards pays 500 places, with prizes ranging from ¥200 (~$30) up to ¥65,200 (~$9,670).
Daily Missions Keep Adding Extra Value
Regular grinders can pick up further value through the Overdrive Daily Missions.
Completing designated tournament, deposit or casino missions awards tickets into hourly All-In Flip tournaments. Those feed into a Daily Final with ¥50,000 (approx. $7,400) guaranteed, providing another prize pool outside the normal tournament schedule.
WPT Global allocated ¥2.1 million (approx. $311,000) across 42 Daily Finals during the full Overdrive promotion, and those missions continue during the remaining days of the series.
Three Rings Could Be Worth Another ¥3 Million
For players already collecting WPT hardware, the remaining Ring events carry an additional incentive.
WPT Global's Triple Ring Challenge rewards players who win three qualifying WPT Championship Rings across WPT Asia Series festivals with a ¥3 million bonus – approximately $445,000 at current exchange rates.
The Rings do not need to be won in the same festival, and the promotion is not limited to one winner. Anyone meeting the qualifying criteria can earn the full bonus.
With four Rings still available before Overdrive ends, the final two Sundays could therefore be worth considerably more than the tournament prize money alone.
From $1.10 Online to WPT Seoul
While Overdrive races towards its finale, WPT Global has also launched qualifiers for its next major Asian live destination. WPT Seoul satellites are running now, and the cheapest route begins at just $1.10.
Players can climb the complete ladder or enter directly at a higher stage:
- 🎟️ $1.10 Step: runs daily
- 🔥 $8.80 Satellite: runs daily
- 🏆 $88 Qualifier: every Sunday at 12:05 UTC
- 🇰🇷 $1,500 WPT Seoul Package: three guaranteed every Sunday
That means a $1.10 starting point can ultimately lead all the way to a seat in the WPT Seoul INSPIRE Championship.
And importantly, the weekly $88 final does not award just one seat. Three $1,500 packages are guaranteed every Sunday.
What Is Inside the $1,500 WPT Seoul Package?
Each package carries a fixed advertised value of $1,500 and centers around entry into the WPT Seoul INSPIRE Championship.
- 🎫 KRW 1,750,000 (~$1,260) Championship entry for Day 1A on November 5
- 💵 $250 in expenses credited to the WPT Global account
- 🥂 Nightly VIP Ultra Lounge access
- 🎉 WPT Player Party entry
- 👕 Exclusive WPT Global merchandise
The exact USD value of the Championship entry will naturally fluctuate with the KRW/USD exchange rate, while WPT Global advertises the complete package at $1,500.
There is one important restriction for qualifiers: the package is specifically tied to Day 1A on November 5 and cannot be switched to another starting flight.
First 30 Qualifiers Get Four Hotel Nights for Two
Qualifying early can make the deal considerably better. The first 30 WPT Seoul package winners also receive four complimentary hotel nights for two people, covering November 4–8 at the Brown Dot Hotel Eurwangri near INSPIRE.
The room is provided on top of the $1,500 package value, rather than being deducted from it. That makes the early Sunday qualifiers particularly valuable: secure one of the first 30 packages and the trip includes both the Championship package and four nights of accommodation for two.
WPT Seoul Debuts at INSPIRE Entertainment Resort
The live festival itself runs from October 30 to November 9, 2026, at INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea, next to Incheon International Airport. The resort is also home to the new 70-table YY Poker Club, which will host the WPT action.
The WPT Seoul INSPIRE Championship runs from November 5–9 and features:
- 🏆 KRW 1,750,000 (~$1,260) buy-in
- 💰 KRW 1 billion (~$721,000) guaranteed
- 📅 November 5–9
- 🎥 Globally livestreamed final table
- 🇰🇷 WPT's debut at INSPIRE Entertainment Resort
For package winners, there are a few additional requirements to keep in mind. KYC must be completed by November 1, players must be at least 19 years old, and a valid foreign passport is required to enter the foreigner-only casino and participate in the Championship. Packages are non-transferable and have no cash alternative.
Plenty of Value Before the Finish Line
There may be less than two weeks left in Overdrive, but this is far from a quiet run to the finish. Four Rings, ¥10 million (~$1.48 million) guaranteed in the remaining Ring events, ¥800,000 (~$119,000) across the final two leaderboards, Daily Missions and the ¥3 million (~$445,000) Triple Ring Challenge leave plenty worth chasing before the series ends on August 30.
And WPT Global already has the next destination lined up. With three $1,500 WPT Seoul packages guaranteed every Sunday and qualification starting from just $1.10, the road from the online tables to South Korea is already open.
